WELCOME TOATAC

We started Albuquerque Triton Aquatic Club in the fall of 2009. Many summer league swim families were looking to keep their kiddos in the water over the winter months without having to commit to 5-6 days a week of practice with meets every weekend. It was suggested to me that I run a program that would fill this niche. I figured we would get between 20-30 kids max. Lo and behold, we have had 70-80 kids each and every year since! Our goal is to teach stroke technique in a fun, social, and positive setting. Why "ATAC"? The high school mascot in my hometown of San Clemente, CA is the Tritons. Every summer I go back and visit. It's the only other place I can imagine living…but, I'm not a millionaire. 😊

SEASON INFORMATION

Welcome to our 18th year! Everything you need to know about the upcoming season for Albuquerque Triton Aquatic Club (ATAC).

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 swimming season for Albuquerque Triton Aquatic Club (ATAC). This year, we celebrate our 18th year in existence. Below is a summary of important information including do's and don'ts for the season.

Things You Need to Know

🏊
Practice Schedule
Practice is at Los Altos Pool from 5:00–6:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays during September and October. Once the high school season starts (tentatively November 2), our schedule moves to 5:30–6:30 PM.
🕔
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Please do not drop your swimmer more than 10 minutes prior to practice. Please pick up on time — Quint stays until 10 minutes after practice ends. If you're running late, text him at 719-849-9574 and he will stay until you arrive. Please don't make it a habit!
👀
Spectators & Parents
Parents and spectators are always welcome to watch practice from the bleachers or bring your own chairs. However, parents and spectators are NEVER allowed to coach their kids during practice. Swimmers should be fully focused on their coach and what's happening in the pool.
🥽
Practice Gear
A swimsuit and goggles are required. Speedo Jr Vanquisher goggles are recommended for younger swimmers — available at swimoutlet.com, Amazon, or local sporting goods stores.

Swim Fins: Not required but encouraged. Best option: A3 Performance Swift Kick Fins or other short fins at swimoutlet.com.
🧢
Swim Caps & Team Suits
ATAC swim caps are available for $5.00 — not required but available. We do not require a specific team suit, so your swimmer can wear whatever they're comfortable in.
🔀
First Week of Practice
It takes about 2 practices to make sure swimmers are in the right lanes. Please be patient as we move swimmers around to keep things moving smoothly. We try to group by age, but lane adjustments may be needed to keep practice productive for everyone.
💳
Payments
If you bring payment to practice, place it in an envelope with your swimmer's name and what it's for (team fees, shirts, caps, etc.).
